2012-2013 E-Rate - Request for Proposal

 

Priority One

 

  • Wide Area Network Services (WAN)
    • Clinton Schools currently has a fiber back bone between each one of its schools to a central location for internet access.  We are seeking to continue use of this network and the maintenance to maintain its services.
    • Vendor need to be able and offer and utilize OUSF funding mechanism as well.
  • Internet Access
    • At this present time the school district share a 10MB internet connection between all of its school sites.  Our intention is to at a minimum maintain this connection speed, but we would prefer to upgrade to 50MB.
    • Vendor need to be able and offer and utilize OUSF funding mechanism as well.
  • Cell Phone Services
  • 3G Data Services
    • Needed for multiple iPad devices and cell service
  • POTS/Plexar Phone Lines
    • 67 Plexar lines in use by this district at this time
  • Leased VOIP Services
  • PRI Lines needed for VOIP services
  • Web Hosting
    • Capable of allowing teachers individual web pages
    • Easy to use content management backend

 

Priority Two

 

  • Additional AeroHive Wireless Access Points
    • Clinton Schools has standardized its wireless network with AeroHive and is seeking to add to the existing network for better wireless coverage to the classrooms.
    • One AP per classroom
    • Any network cabling needed for access points should be included in bid
  • Upgrade Network Switches
    • Clinton Schools prefers HP ProCurve switches for use in our district.
    • This upgrade includes the additional switches needed for the additional wireless
    • Upgrade switches at Nance and High School
    • Switches need to have POE
  • UPS
    • One per switch that is upgraded
  • Web Hosting
    • Capable of allowing teachers individual web pages
    • Easy to use content management backend
  • Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections
    • Maintenance for telephone lines
    • Maintenance for Network Cabling
    • Maintenance for Network Switches
    • Maintenance for PVBX systems

 

Notice to potential bidders for this RFP – All vendors providing bids must be able to provide a complete solution for the services being bid.  This includes, but is not limited to, installation and deployment services, technical support, on-going maintenance of equipment, and service and support.  Bids must also be complete and accurate for the services/devices bid.  Make sure that all eligibility levels are included for services and devices bid.  Bids not meeting these requirements will not be accepted.

 

Vendor selections will be made based upon price, experience with ERate program, quality of services and products, accuracy of bids, and in state preference.
