It is a tumultuous time in education; students, parents, and educators are all being effected by some educational issue.  Whether it is dealing with the high stakes testing climate in order to earn a high school diploma, making the difficult choice of a college or career track, dealing with the ever increasing demands of a more rigorous curriculum in order to meet the new promotion requirements in elementary, or negotiating the effects of a reduction in school funding, education is facing a multitude of issues.  However, no matter how today's educational climate is affecting you, please rest assured that we are constantly striving to not only meet the educational needs of your child, we are striving to exceed those expectations. For the upcoming year, you will notice many changes improving the quality of education at Clinton.  First, we are making major improvements to our educational facilities.  Thanks to you and your support of CPS, we will be opening many state of the art educational classrooms, cafeterias, and other facilities.  Second, we are constantly upgrading our technology and internet accessability to enhance student learning.  Furthermore, changes to the Child Nutrition Program includes during the school day breakfast and better choices for your children at lunch.  This will ensure that all students will have the chance to eat a quality breakfast and lunch which will drastically increase their ability and desire to learn.  And finaly, we are exploring ways in which digital textbooks and personal tablets can supplement the educational experiences for students at Clinton. In closing, I would like to reiterate what Mr. Hime said about parental involvement.  Research shows that the number one factor for improving the educational experience of your child is parent involvment.  If you would like to serve on any of the various committees that govern the educational experiences of children at CPS, please do not hesitate to let me know.  Again, it is a pleasure to be able to serve the wonderful people of Clinton as an educator.  I am looking forward to a great year.  Thanks.
